Vegas..

Had a great time in Vegas with the guys and also had the chance to see a handful of other people who were in town last weekend. On Friday night, Jeff and Paul showed up as they had flown in for the evening. Heather and David were in early Sunday afternoon and we were able to meet up for dinner and I had breakfast with Mike on Monday. It was good timing that so many people were there and we were able to spend some, although brief, time together.

I forwarded a copy of my pathology report to my mom and she sent it to Uncle Fred as he is retired Dr. He was able to show it to a pathologist and oncologist as well as doing his own research and he called the other night. According to the 3 Dr's, they felt I am getting good advice on the best course of treatment and he agrees with the Chemo. I discussed the differences of the BEP vs EP and said that I am leaning toward the EP, even though it extends the treatment for 3 extra weeks, as there are no long term side affects. Fred agreed as he understood the risks of using Bleomycin. So, it's like I now have my 5th opinion and they are all consistent which is a good sign.

Scans on Friday, Dr. Appointment on Tuesday where I anticipate hearing that the scans are clear and we can talk about a start date for the chemo.

I will get some photo's of the girls uploaded this week.

Sam,
First, most important, how are you? not physically, I took the time to read everything in the blog and catch up...How are YOU? Oh God! I am so very, very sorry to know that you are going through this. I am so sorry. I have not had access to my computer for just over 3 weeks now. The office moved and since I no longer go in, but work about once a month from home, I had no remote access and had to wait for that to be repaired. Then my computer screen broke. I'm sure it was when I had the web cam on so my ex in laws could see the kids and Teagan decided it was a piano. Every key...all at once; over and over again, and then, a black out. Lucky for him I'm really fond of him so I let him live. In any event, I went online tonight and had over a hundred messages. Most of them jokes or spam. Then I saw Jennifer's email and being as vain as I am, I thought she might be inviting me to lunch or something.
Sam, I'm sorry and truly saddened. I cried and called my mom. I will pray for you tonight and every time I think of you tomorrow and every day after that. But how are you?How are you handling the information overload? Feel like you could be a doctor yet with all the knowledge you are getting? I know the devastation and fear that comes with the reality of such a diagnosis. Please let me do something, anything at all to help ease the burden for both you and jennifer. Can I cook or clean. I am not asking, just wanting to know which you would rather I do for you. I'm not taking no for an answer either. I want to be there for you in any and every way that I am able and of course, and every way that you will allow. I know you are private and I promise to respect that. I would be happy to wear my shoes, which happen to be just like Addison's and come clean in the middle of the night if you prefer. Or I can come when you are out of the house, but I'll leave the shoes at home if I have no listening audience.
I'm shocked and saddened at hearing this news. I am sorry I was not there for you when this all came about. Dr. Reznick is my Oncologist as well and I love him. He is a wonderful man and you are in great hands. He will not mislead you and he is patient, knowledgeable and above all compassionate. I know you have some scans tomorrow and I will be praying for the absolute best that is possible for you.
Please tell jennifer that I am sorry and am here for both of you to talk, cry, laugh, or simply listen should you so desire. God Bless you Sam
Micky

It was nice having the opportunity to meet and have breakfast with you on Monday. As crazy as things might be for your right now you seem to be handling it all very well. Keep up the positive attitude. Oh, and a note to Briley: Don't let Sam use excuses for cleaning up after the dog. :-)
